VMWARE – Internet Separation and Government Security Matters

Posted on Posted in Archive Events, Online

Internet is one of the biggest sources for organized cyber attacks by individuals, rogue entities, or even, teams funded by enemy states. In the event of hacking, the stakes are more than sky-high for the Government to maintain national security as well as retain citizen trust. Unlike private sector, Cybersecurity for the Government represents a unique challenge, given the high level of threats that it faces daily and the potentially devastating consequences of a breach.

While Government takes proactive steps to ensure Cybersecurity to protect its systems from hostile intruders and enemies, government employees and citizens alike, seek anytime, anywhere access to their Internet.

Therefore, for the Government, Cybersecurity is not just a mere challenge but also one of the biggest hurdles for true digital transformation.

THE ADVENT OF INTERNET SEPARATION

One of the many strategies to ensure Cybersecurity pertains to Internet Separation.

Internet Separation reduces the risks arising from spear phishing, where employees mistakenly click on links in fake e-mail connecting to dangerous websites. It also minimizes the risks arising from ransomware, wherein malicious software locks up all the organization systems and computers.

At the same time, steps are required for promoting security for the digital native generation, who have grown up using the Internet and find it natural to use Internet tools and resources to work productively.

According to the findings of a recent primary survey by CMR, 65% of the Government faces problems pertaining to reduction of staff productivity, as well as challenges in collaborating with industry partners.

It is in this background, that this Webinar aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the mechanisms, tools and strategies for internet separation.
